Japanese Cuisine Demonstration at the St. George's College, Barataria

 

On March 19, 2010, the Embassy of Japan hosted a Japanese Cuisine demonstration at the St. George's College in Barataria. Students from the Home Economics class of the Fourth and Fifth forms respectively participated in this cooking demonstration. Mr. Megumi Uchida, chef to the Ambassador of Japan, instructed to students on how to prepare traditional Japanese cuisines such as sushi, onigiri (rice balls), tempura and miso soup. The students assisted Mr. Uchida in preparing some of the dishes. Mr. Naoki Yoshimura and Ms. Amrita Maharaj of the Public Relations and Culture Section of the Embassy, in addition to Mrs. Shiho Arakawa, assisted the students as well.
